Overview
Panasonic Avionics Corporation is a subsidiary of Panasonic Corporation that designs, engineers, manufactures, sells, and installs customized in-flight entertainment and communications solutions to airlines worldwide.
I worked with the engineering team that provided the documentation, guides, and API references for building apps and software for Panasonic products. Due to the lack of brand guidelines and design systems for internal tools, I was brought onto the project to extend Panasonic branding to the documentation guides and provide colorful visuals to offset the technical and code filled pages of the guide. Icons and illustrations were added to help with navigation through the documentation.

The documentation was divided into three sections: entertainment, crew controls, and wi-fi connectivity. To represent and distinguish each section from each other, I used metaphors that developers commonly associated for each type of software.
Entertainment (apps that passengers would interact with): Movies, Music, News, Weather, Shopping
Crew controls (controls managed by the crew): Hospitality, Payment, Seat controls
Wi-Fi Connectivity: Devices
Icons
Icons were added to represent the different applications that can be added to the seatback experience such as flight information, seat chat, and parental controls.
